Sims Recycling Solutions – Salley, South Carolina Facility Achieves ISO 14001:2004 Certification

West Chicago – Sims Recycling Solutions’ wholly owned subsidiary, Global Investment Recovery, Inc., added another ISO Certificate to its growing collection with the registration of their Salley, South Carolina facility.

The Salley facility joins four other Global sites in having achieved an environmental management system certified to the ISO 14001:2004 international standard through ISO registrar, NSF International Strategic Registrations.  Sims Recycling Solutions provides environmentally sound electronics recycling services and secure data destruction to a wide variety of governmental agencies and Fortune 500 companies.  Global Investment Recovery was purchased by Sims Recycling Solutions in October 2008, creating the world’s largest electronics recycling company with 14 North American locations and 39 facilities globally.

“The combined strength of the two companies provides greater opportunities for us and our clients.  We are pleased to be part of a company who also views health and safety issues as a top priority,” says David Ritter, founder of Global.  Sims Recycling Solutions and Global expect that all of their North American facilities will achieve ISO registration by the end of 2009.

While the metals markets may have soured, the need to be safety conscience has not diminished.  “Sims Recycling Solutions takes environmental, health and safety issues very seriously and all of our employees undergo extensive training.  Our ISO Certification requires continuous review and improvement to the benefit of our clients and for the protection of our employees,” says Steve Skurnac, President of Sims Recycling Solutions.

Sims Recycling Solutions specializes in the recycling of computing, telecommunications, and sensitive military electronics, precious metals recovery and data security.  Sims Recycling Solutions provides recycling services for Original Equipment Manufacturers, Government agencies, the financial and insurance industries and other large corporate entities.
