Global Investment Recovery – Reno Facility Achieves ISO 14001:2004 Certification
Tampa, Florida - Global Investment Recovery, Inc. (Global) headquartered in Tampa, Florida, continues to forge ahead as an industry leader, providing environmentally sound electronics recycling services to a wide variety of governmental agencies and Fortune 500 companies. In continuing its strategy to provide its clients with the highest quality service, Global has secured ISO 14001:2004 Certification for another of its processing sites.
Global’s Reno, Nevada facility is the third site in Global’s chain of operations to have an environmental management system certified to the ISO 14001:2004 international standard through ISO registrar, NSF International Strategic Registrations.
Global’s two Tampa facilities have been certified to this standard since 2004. “ISO 14001 Certification requires us to manage our environmental programs and perform to the highest possible standards to the benefit of our clients. Global is moving aggressively to have all of our nationwide facilities environmental management systems certified to ISO 14001:2004 as quickly as possible”, says David Ritter, founder and CEO of Global.
Soaring values in the precious metals commodities market have made it attractive for small operators to enter the e-scrap business. “Our clients want partners who are stable, and can stand up to regulatory scrutiny if required. Our environmental management system certification points to our commitment to longevity in the market place, and further differentiates us from other operators,” says Josh Macauley, General Manager of Global’s Reno facility.
Global specializes in the destruction of electronic products, precious metals recovery and electronic recycling of computers, telecommunications equipment, and sensitive military electronics. In addition to the Reno site, Global operates facilities in Tampa, Florida; Aiken County, SC; Tucson, Arizona, and Shreveport, Louisiana.
Incorporated in 1992, Global is one of only seven primary electronic recyclers selected for the Environmental Protection Agency/READ Contract. Since 1999, Global has been a Primary Contractor for the Department of Defense for the demanufacturing of electronic equipment for the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Services. Global also provides recycling services for Original Equipment Manufacturers, leasing companies and other large corporate entities.
